that computer will support up to two additional displays with Hardware acceleration, depending on their resolution. It does not support displays over 4K width with ONE cable, unless they are genuine ThunderBolt displays.
depending one the resolution, that may be a heavy load, and the fans may spin up and be loud with many displays attached.
Each displays can show a completely different set of Applications and document windows "Separate spaces" OR
each displays can be concatenated along an edge to form one big "Extended desktop", like this:
The built-in display can also be "mirrored" with another display, but a compromise resolution is required to make that work.
