My Mac Pro needs to update basic apps, but can't

My Mac Pro says it needs the Numbers, pages, iMovie etc, updated. however, when I go to update them, it says the apps were purchased on a different Apple ID, and it won't let me update them... any suggestions on how to fix this?

If you did not originally purchase these apps using your AppleID, then you don't "own" them, nor can you update them. Delete the apps and see if you can download them from the App Store using your own AppleID. I believe at some point these apps became free, but they still must be associated with your AppleID.

If you purchased this Mac used, then you really should back up your data and perform a clean install of macOS by first erasing the drive before reinstalling macOS.
