Mac OS Mojave: When I select a Mail message (single click), the message often opens, rather than just allowing me to see it in the viewer window. I don't want the message to pop up, but many do (some don't). This is extremely annoying. A solution would be most appreciated.

Changing the mouse prefs doesn’t seem to help, unfortunately. If I click at the far left of the mail message (left of the unread badge) the msg doesn’t pop up; anywhere else it usually does. I’ll try a different mouse— May take a while to get one. Thanks though...
I believe it's either your Mouse/Pointing device or Sys Prefs>Mouse>Double Click speed.
Make any headway yet?
Also, 2 messages still (usually) delete at a time. I have to do Ctrl-z to get back the one I didn’t delete.
