On Apple Music, by default, when you add a song to a playlist, the song is NOT added to your Library.

Change this default setting.

On your iPhone,

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap Music.
  3. Turn ON Add Playlist Songs.

Now, when you create a new playlist, the songs in the playlist will also be added to your Library.

And when you delete your playlist, the song will still remain in your Library.

Yes, provided you have already added the songs on the playlist to Library!

I would recommend you create a new test playlist - add songs to it. And then delete the test playlist, to become familiar with the settings!
