Why photos air dropped from iPhone to MacBook shown as JPG in downloads folder?

I airdropped photos from my iPhone X to MAcBook, keeping settings as Originals. Post sharing, under downloads folder on MacBook photos appear as JPG and not HEIC. why?

Hi, welcome to the Apple Users Community.

Please check the settings on your iPhone. The formats may have been changed. Settings>Camera>Formats>

High Efficiency = HEIC

Most Compatible = JPG
