Am I missing something? All 3 ways to control the volume appear on the screen correctly but there's no sound at all.

if the appletvs audio settings is set to surround but you only have stereo speakers connected
then when playing surround enabled material it will be silent as most audio played from the center speaker

Thanks for your incredibly quick response. Meanwhile, my son told me to switch the cord to another HDMI port & that worked. However, the on-line directions said to use another port, so I'm going to try your solution since it sounds more reasonable.

Anyone have trouble with the audio? The TV set itself, the clicker and the apple box controls all work but there's no sound.
