headphones aren’t working

this happened a couple days ago and i thought i just broke my adapter but i just got new headphones and they don’t work either, my phone charges fine and the most confusing part is that it registers the headphones are plugged in

does anyone know what the problem could be i’ve tried multiple headphones oh and they work on my brothers iphone 8 (i have an xr)

and worse case, the deal for my phone is almost up so i’m getting a new phone soon so
