Apple TV model A1469 remote won’t scroll down

Our remote won’t scroll down, only scrolls right and left, so can’t go and do software updates in settings. Is this model not supported now?? Have tried resetting and re linking remote but still same issue

The remote can get broken, then it could lose partial functionality. If that is the case, then you should buy a replacement remote.
If you activated VoiceOver, then it could restrict navigation to left-right, as accessibility assist for “previous-next”.
