Add AirPods to My Devices with Mac (only)

Hello, I had a scare and lost my AirPods for a bit. I noticed under My Decices via iCloud.com that they are not listed. I do not have an iPhone at the moment and most online instruction refers to setting up the Find My app before adding AirPods and they will be listed.

So without an iphone, just on a MacBook Pro, how can I add my AirPods to My Devices? I have Find My Mac setup and the AirPods are paired with the Mac yet the AirPods are still not in My Devices. Thanks for any tips!
