iCloud.com Contacts - EMPTY Groups

Our iPhone Contacts apps have populated groups. However, iCloud.com (using Safari on a MacBook) seems to show All Contacts, but selecting any single Group displays 'Empty Group' in all cases.

Any ideas to fix this?

I cannot see a + sign to add a new contact group when looking at the phone. All the help articles state the function must be done by logging into icloud website, and clicking on 'Contacts'. Contacts problem on iMac why does my Contacts list show only my sub-group and not my entire list? It's enabled in iCloud settings and not maxed out. It shows perfectly fine on my iPhone.

Contact GROUPS not showing in iCloud but showing on iPhone After finally understanding how to manage contacts and groups from different accounts in my iPhone, I still have the issue of having "old" groups on the Contacts app on my iPhone, which do not sync anymore and so, those are not visible on iCloud. Current situation on iPhone: three accounts configured, only iCloud active for contacts. Mac and iPhone have same settings. Mac's Contacts show no groups, iPhone's Contacts show them... I have already erased the Contacts app from iPhone, restarted it and reinstalled Contacts app, groups are still there even after new installation... I cannot delete them from iPhone... any ideas on how to delete these old contacts groups from iPhone?

On the iPhone which seems to be the problematic device, try turning off/on Contacts under Settings > Name > iCloud > Contacts.

If you're certain the contacts are safely stored in iCloud (verify at iCloud.com on a computer browser), then you can choose "delete from phone" as that will delete it from the device but the contacts will be in iCloud.

Thank you zinacef. Before I do that, can you advise whether I should “keep contacts on phone”, or “delete phone contacts”? That question always makes me nervous.
