why won't my Mac air connect to apple tv

Apple TV cannot connect to computer anymore I used to be able to watch content from my MacBook Pro's TV library via the Apple TV (I would choose the Computers icon and it would connect to the TV library). But now, the Apple TV cannot connect to the library. I keep getting this message, "Make sure the computer is on the same network as your Apple TV." The Apple TV is of course on the same network as the Macbook Pro, as it has always been. Why won't it work anymore?

Problems connecting to Apple TV from my new MacBook air I have tried all of the obvious things ie same network etc and although I can connect my iPhone and iPad to my Apple TV my new MacBook Air resolutely refuses to connect! help!!

What is your model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

Are you referring to AirPlay?

How to AirPlay video and mirror your device's screen - Apple Support

If AirPlay or screen mirroring isn’t working on your device - Apple Support

Some applications and services may not support (block) AirPlay.
