Thunderbolt display 27" not working on catalina and macbook pro 16"

I recently bought the thunderbolt display and I am using it with thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter (original apple). When I plug it into the display nothing happens.

I am using Catalina 10.15.6 on macbook pro 16"

I tried to connect it to an old macbook running older version of macos having a thunderbolt 2 port the display works fine which proves that the display is working but when afterwards when i connect it to my macbook (using the adpater) it magically starts working until i shutdown my mac and check it the next morning it doesn't wakes up.

So i believe it somehow gets triggered when i use it on older mac.

I have repeated this a couple of times and it works fine.

I believe there is a problem with the macos Catalina.

Any solutions?

With the two connected, do a PRAM reset.

I have already tried PRAM reset as well as SMC reset

But, just tried it again with the display connected but still no response from display :(

isn't it something to do with the os? because i also tried it with another Macbook having a thunderbolt 3 port with Catalina and it doesn't work on it as well but works on the older macbook having thunderbolt 2.
