Missing Email on iPhone

Has there been a change made recently that prevents the Apple iPhone from displaying all email?

I have recently experienced an issue with email that appears on a web-mail server not appearing on my iPhone. The software is current and I power the iPhone off at least once a day but I still have the issue with seeing all of the email. Any suggestions?
