another way to get into Mac recovery
I need to go into recovery mode to clean up the disk but my keyboard doesn't work. nor will my back up wireless keyboard. I have no wired keyboard. what are my options?

You can use almost any USB wired keyboard, even one for a PC.
All the alphabetics and numerics are the same, and most of the control keys are the same as well. For Command substitute Windoze key.
