iPhone 11 pro max memory was full, it crashed and when restarted it gave me two options, one to update and one to factory reset, I chose the update, and after update was done it did factory reset as well! so I lost very important files and have no backup.
my question is, is there a robust method supported by apple to recover?

Without a back-up you probably will not be able to recover anything unless some things were synced to iCloud. Check your iCloud account. You have learned a valuable lesson about the importance of a working back-up.

Sure... it's called a backup... since you don't have one, your data is gone.
There is no way to recover it as there is no place to recover it from...
