Open the document in Pages.

This converts the opened copy to a Pages document, which you can then Save.

The translation is seldom perfect, as any features supported in Word but not in Pages will not be translated. For most Word docs, you will get a message that the font Calibri (the default font set in MS Word documents) is not available, and was replaced by…" a similar font installed on your Mac.

The translation affects only the document as opened in Pages. The original Word document is left unchanged.

Is there a special reason you need to do that? Depending on who else needs to read your documents, you may be well advised to continue working in Word and its format, rather than risking possible imperfect translation from Pages to Word.
