Restoring files from Time Machine

I use a MBP and it has been upgraded from Yosemite to Mojave. I have old Time Machine backups from the same computer going back to 2018. I can't get Time Machine to go back there. The dates show up on the right - I click on them - nothing happens. I can go back a few days by clicking on the back arrow next to the displayed folder or by clicking on folders in back - but only a few days. The data appears to be in the folders in the disk I use for Time Machine. I have several disks for back-up and the same problem occurs with each. Recommendations? Thank you. David

I´ve been having the exact same problem with Time Machine running Mojave 10.14.6 on my iMac. I just tried what you posted, and it works! I have never entered TM like this before, but I can now access all TM backups going back to 2018, on all three of my external TM drives! Thanks again...one never stops learning!! Regards, Ian.

Hold down the Option key and select "Browse Other Disks…" from the Time Machine menu. Then select the same disk. See if that won't let you go further back in time on that disk.
