Worked fine on older sony HD. but got new TV and no luck getting sound While using Apple Tv.
Cable tv is fine. I have seen and followed similar questions on here, but haven't seen productive answers. or maybe i missed them. can someone help?I have suspicion its related to ARC eARC but not sure what i need to do.
Sorry about that. Other than calling it a Apple TV HD I don’t know what model. Had it about 3 years or so. I have it connected by Its hdmi to port three on new tv which is labled as HDMI eARC /ARC. My receiver is a Denon AVR e300 which is connected direct to TV via hdmi. Should Apple TV run into receiver then to new tv?
5.1 Sr sound is a basic set up out of receiver. I’m using the exact same set up as my last older tv. I just swapped them out last night.

I strongly recommend using your Receiver as the center point of all inputs. All external devices (Cable boxes, DVD players, Media players (like Apple TV) ) should be plugged into the Receiver's HDMI inputs and then use the Receiver's HDMI output to the TV.
Please read your Receiver's owners manual!!!!!

Please use that port for the connection between the TV and AV receiver, not for the Apple TV.
First, please Identify your Apple TV model and then please describe how the Apple TV is connected to the Receiver.
it's a 4th Gen....
I’ll re do set up as you suggest(I agree) and report back so there’s an answer to this question that seems to have been asked before without resolve

yep this fixed the problem... don’t know why I had a it set up like that anyway. So The answer is... use common sense and run everything thru the receiver first. Haha
