Screen recording using Shift-Command-5

When using the Shift-Command - 5 option to screen record the microphone option is greyed out. Can anybody tell me how to fix this? I want to do a voice over while I am recording actions on the screen.

Audio Midi setup utility lets you control what you use for a Mic.

Make sure the audio input is setup for 44100 Herz.

Microphone isn't working for screen recording I have followed all of the Apple instructions for using screen recording but I am not getting the option to turn on the microphone. I have checked all of the areas I know to check and have turned off all restrictions. The screen recording works fine but there is just no sound.
