I am trying to install windows 10 via bootcamp. I have downloaded the windows 10 ISO file from Microsoft web site. When I run bootcamp on my iMac, it asked me for a windows 7 install disc which I don’t have. I have followed the instructions on the help file.
Why does bootcamp only allow win 7 to load?
I have a late 2009 iMac running High Sierra with about 8Gb of free disc space.

Your 2009 iMac does not support W10. See the following for reference

Oops. I actually meant 80Gb. But I take your point about not being able to run Win10. I wish BootCamp had told me. Thanks.
You can install W7/W8.1and then run an in-place upgrade to W10, but W10 repairs will not work with this method.
