how to block unwanted text messages

How to block unwanted text messages from iphone. If you receive a text message from an unwanted sender requesting you to call another number, how do you BLOCK BOTH numbers?


Must you call an unwanted number in order to block that number?


iPhone XS, iOS 13

Thanks for your post! We understand that you would like to find a way to block both numbers; one that called you and the other that was referred to you to call back. Currently the only way to block the contact would be to call, or receive a call or message from that number. If you would like to see a different way to block numbers, please leave feedback using the link below.

  1. Open up your phone app on your iPhone
  2. At bottom of phone tap "recent calls" (the one you would like to block)
  3. Tap the "i" (info icon with circle around it) at the right of the number and it will bring you to info page
  4. Scroll all the way down the info page until you see Blocke this Caller
  5. Tap it and you will get a pop-up that tells you you will no longer receive texts calls etc. from that number
