Hi,
I am trying to import wav files into Logic and it is keep copying the original original file into the same folder. For example, if I were to import 808 bass.wav into Logic it would copy that file to 808 bass.wav-24b.wav and import that file which is lower in size and compresses the file. Is there a way to fix this problem? (Picture is shown for easier explanation)

What is the problem exactly? The audio file is essentially converted to fit the project settings.
For example, what are the sample rate and bit depth of both the project and the audio file? In what format is encoded the Wave file?

You can't. And they are not duplicates.
Most applications on all platforms do that. Most of the time they are temporary files. In the case of Logic it just makes sense to keep them.
BTW, in many cases nothing keep you from moving them to the location of your choice.

I just do not want the program to make duplicate files onto the computer.
