no arrangement tab in display on 2010 iMac and 2009 macbook air ... I've connected the two via a mini display cable and accomplished screen share but can't move windows between the two computers ?

The iMac desktop is connected to the Mac Book Air via a mini-display cable. They both mini display ports.
I’ve seen inside the display preference the “detect displays” option but the arrangement option doesn’t appear.
Still stumped and wondering if I can’t drag screens between my connected Macs because they’re to old or perhaps I need a different type of connector ?

any other suggestions ....correction on my devices : the Imac is late 2009 and the Macbook Air is late 2010.

Is this not possible
The Arrangement tab is for external displays that are powered on and connected to the iMac, not a MacBook Air.
