Stop Mojave updating to Catalina

I run Mojave on an iMac. I inadvertently downloaded the installer for Catalina but I do not want to upgrade. I cannot remove the installer from Launchpad. I am afraid to switch off the iMac in case it begins loading Catalina when I switch back on. What can I do?

How to stop or delete the impending upgrade to OS Catalina? I haven't upgraded to the new Catalina OS but it is downloaded and I keep getting a prompt when my Macbook Pro can upgrade to it. From what I read, there's a lot of 32-bit programs that aren't working and more compatibility issues with third party apps. My question is: Is there a way to delete or remove the downloaded OS update? I don't want to restart my laptop and inadvertently upgrade, I'm also getting tired of the prompt to restart. I've disabled the auto-update since then. Is there a place in my computer that has the downloaded OS that I can delete directly from?

Installing system software on my iMac desktop computer I accidentally installed Catalina on my iMac. I did not mean to install this upgrade. How can I erase this or go back to Mojave which is what I was using? I have tried to download it from apples web site but it keeps failing. My business software is not compatible with Catalina and I was not aware of this. I need to go back to what I was using before I updated to Catalina. Can anyone help me with how I can do this and where I can go to download the full version of Mojave and not just and update? Thanks so much.

Delete it from the Applications folder
