I have an Apple Watch Series 5. Unfortunately I bought it while I am living in Malaysia, so the ECG and Afib features are not currently available here.
Does anyone know if Apple is working on supporting other regions, or is everything stalled due to regulations? Any expected timeline for when these features might be enabled?

For your watch to be able to use the ECG app your government must approve it because the watch becomes classed as a medical device.
We don't know what apple's future plans are,you might be better off contacting your country's health authority and ask them what progress has been made.
