unable to update to Catalina

I am running Mojave on 13" 2019 Macbook air with 1 TB disk. I am trying to update to Catalina. I get an error that says "macOS could not be installed on your computer. Some APFS cryptographic state information was unexpectedly unavailable :(-69461). Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again." Based on previous posts, I did the following things: (a) I redownloaded the Catalina installer file, (b) I used disk utility (First Aid) to check nothing was wrong with my hard drive, (c) I attempted to install from a newly created administrator account. In all cases, I got the same error. What should I try next?

Ok, I fixed the problem myself using https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/384409/how-to-fix-catalina-install-failing-with-some-apfs-cryptographic-state-informat Although I used the 'First Aid' disk utility and it said everything was ok, it turns out it wasn't. But following the instructions in the linked article, I opened Terminal and typed in a few 'diskutil' commands which actually did fix the problem... and then Catalina installed just fine.
