I can record sound through camera but not in voice memos on iPad Air 3rd gen??

External mic not working on camera app only on memo app I have an Iphone 13 and I am trying to use an external mic to record audio for my video captured using the camera app. I a lightning adptater conected to the mic plug and it works great while using the Memos app but when I record using the camera app it uses only the mics in the iphone. Does anyone know how to fix it?
