Does a 4K TV upscale the Apple TV HD?

I currently have a fourth generation Apple TV HD which can achieve up to 1080p resolution but it is connected to a Samsung 4K TV.


So I am wondering Does a 4K TV upscale content played from the Apple TV HD?
