Plugged in my midi keyboard

Here's my scenario. I have plugged in my Yamaha NP-31 midi keyboard into my macbook pro. Issue is using Logic, when I press a piano key, just first note is heard in logic, then after this note no other notes are registered. There is about a 10 second delay I press next note that comes through.

I have tried other usb ports. Same thing

I have tried 'low latency' mode. Still issue.

I am on OS catalina macbook pro

Any help would be appreciated.

I can’t see a midi usb on the np-31, is that the model?

if you are using midi to usb, have you the latest Catalina drivers for it or is it class compliant (doesn’t need drivers)
