Keyboard issues

since a couple of days my key board appears in the middle of the screen or at the top. How’d I getit back down to where it belongs. It is always in the way so that I don’t see what i am writing. Really annoying. But I tried updating theipad restarting it and looked atpossible settings. However my search was fruitless. Anybody able to help or is this a issue with the new update?
