iPad mini 4

My iPad mini 4 shows battery level at 100% but keeps turning off and gives me the low battery picture. At times it’s hard to get it to stay on. I’m having to charge the battery for at least 8 - 12 hours. I’ve done a total restore and that didn’t help. What’s going on?

Thanks for your advice. Contacted Apple Support and they ran a diagnostic systems check, which all came out good. They suspect that the battery needs replaced. Unfortunately, my mini doesn’t have the option to check the battery performance. It only shows the battery usage of apps or programs. I’ll have Apple double check the systems and change the battery if they find that nothing else is wrong. Thanks again for you suggestion.
