where are pages and numbers apps on MacBook Air 2020

They will be in your /Applications folder which is located on the Favorites panel of a newly opened Finder Window. Before you can use these, you will need to sign into the Mac App Store (Dock) with your Apple ID. Then in the lower left corner where you username and avatar appear, click that, and it will bring up a panel with Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on it. Click each of those applications (to acknowledge it) in this Mac App Store panel, and you should then be able to use them afterward. This is a one-time action that is part of the new Mac setup.
