Bluetooth not seeing any devices

Hi, I have a brand new Macbook Air and since it got delivered I can't get it to connect to any bluetooth device. I have tried shift+option and debug but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

What kind of device are you attempting to connect to your MBA? Has the device been paired to that Mac? Are you sure it isn't paired to another Mac?

More information from you would avoid playing 20 questions.....

Yep, I have, still nothing. My OS is up to date, I've turned the Mac on and off repeatedly, and no luck.
