AirPods keep disconnecting

Whenever I connect my AirPods to either my phone or mac, it keeps disconnecting a few minutes later. I've already done everything i could according to youtube and google. I've cleaned the case, i've turned my phone and the AirPods off and on and reconnected it, but nothing is working. Please help. Mine is a 1st generation version.
