Photos help- when naming people it says "click to name", the cursor shows up for 1 second and goes back to "click to name", won't let me type

editing info in photos (Mac) I have a problem which has driven me nuts for months. and its a problem I have had on different Macs so I can only assume its a software issue. Every time I try and edit the info on a photo, I can't complete it because after typing a few letters it stops allowing me to continue. it keeps "booting me out of the field". Its really hard to explain. I try and start typing and then it just stops working and sometimes tries to do other actions like asking me if I want to delete the photo. I can't edit titles, cannot assign a location. it just won't let me complete more than a few letters. Driving me insane! anyone have an ideas?

Adding names in Photos When I add a name to a photo and hit "Return", I can't position the circle over the face because a small version of the entire picture moves with my cursor. I read two articles: "Cannot move the 'Click to Name' circle...", and Old Toad's reply. I hesitate to try the "safe mode" strategy because I worry it will mess with my fonts, etc.

Photos mark up When I click on the text box, I have the box which appears with a blue dot at each end, but it types backwards in box. click off of the box and the text is up the correct way. Any help please.

When that happens quit Photos and restart the Mac. usually this will be back to normal after a restart.
