Why should it take 3 days to reset a password? .... and how was it that I was able to use it to get here?

You can edit your personal information and change passwords by logging into your AppleID account at https://appleid.apple.com


If you are locked out of your Apple ID account you can go to https://iforgot.apple.com

This will provide you with the recovery steps you put in place for this situation.
