Sound cutting in and out

When I am watching a youtube video or Netflix the sound randomly cuts out. I tried using a different browser, on safari the sound cuts out every 5-10 minutes on the video for about 2 seconds. On Chrome the sound does not come back and continues without sound after a certain point. I just got my macbook a week a go and there has been no damage to the computer.
