spam text messages

How can I block spam text messages? I am constantly bombarded with them, and they do not go to my "unknown senders" group where I can report them as junk.

Blocking a a Spam Text from a Spammer at the beginning I have read every single suggestion on there on how to block spam text to the Message app on iPhone. Let me first say up front the Apple suggestion to go the the Message section in Settings and to "Filter unknown Senders" does not work at all. I get 10-50 spam text emails per day and it is getting worse. Second, the Apple suggestion to block the call via "Hide Alerts" also does not work at all. I have over 500 blocked texters and I still get 5-25 texts per day on senders I have previously blocked. It is time for Apple to allow it users to truly block texts other than from those in your address book. Is that asking too much? Any other suggestions I am open to....

If they’re all from one or a limited set of phone numbers:

Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Otherwise, perhaps your cellular carrier can help.
