Has anyone else had an issue where an album shows up in compilations on iPhone but it is not a compilation? It's tracks are definitely not tagged as 'Part of a compilation' and i have even tried checking and re-clearing this field.

Ensuring that your music library is properly configured is important, and I'll be happy to help.
Are you experiencing this behavior with more than one music album? If you haven't tried yet and you're a subscriber to Apple Music, I recommend to temporarily turn off "Sync Library." Then, turn the feature back on: Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music From there, see if the album, continues to appear as compilations. Performing this step, would remove offline music content that is downloaded. You'll have the option to redownload your music.
Now if you're not a subscriber to Apple Music and this is occurring from an album that was purchased in the iTunes Store, I suggest to delete and redownload the album: Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books
In addition, please make sure that your iPhone is updated to iOS 13.5.1. This helps provide software improvements on your device.

I have solved as follows. Had to erase all the music from the iPhone and transfer it again. Why it worked this way is not clear to me.
