syncing iphones

I am trying to help my parents. They have shared an appleID for years. Their iphones have recently been synced (no idea how) and ones phones text messages were being seen on the other phone. I created a new appleID for one of the phones yesterday, and today, the other phone is signed into that appleID account. When I try to log into the old appleID, it says it no longer exists. I am stuck.

Combining 2 appleID’s I just bought a new apple ipad. My phone I bought last year is an apple phone. My old iPad is an apple. The old iPad and phone did not connect together. They both had their own appleID. Now with my new iPad,the phone has connected together. My old iPad appleID also is on the new iPad. Unable to connect to that appleID. Help transferring data from one iPad to another. I purchased a new iPad and gave my old one to a family member. While trying to transfer data, we didn’t understand exactly how to do it so now my new iPad kept the family member’s email as the sign-in and listed my two under his. there is a place on that list to delete that one and use my email that was on the old one. When I backed up my phone and iPad after doing all that, it put his as the sign-in again. What a headache! How in the world can I fix this?

Did you create a new ID using the steps in the articles below or do a name change on the existing ID?
