forgot macbook pro password

My Macbook isn’t letting me log in. I wrote down the password so I wouldn’t forget, but I must have wrote it down wrong because I can’t log in/my macbook won’t recognize the password! Any way to change the password while stuck on the home login screen?

Forgot MacBook Pro log in password It’s not that I forgot my password to log into my MacBook Pro it is I must have made a typo. I have tried to reset the password by restarting and using my Apple ID but it keeps saying apple cannot reached so I am assuming it is also not connecting to the internet. How do I fix this. It’s brand new and now I can’t use it because if ridiculous security measures that I don’t need.
