I've purchased an Apple Watch series 5 cellular USA version - is it compatible to be used as a phone in the UK (can I add a contract to it) or am I limited to use it simply as a GPS version? Kindly advise

You can only use it as a GPS only version,the cellular part of the watch is only compatible in North America,Canada,Mexico and Puerto rico.
