Mail App Taking up space, although I am not signed in!

My MacBook pro is low of storage space. My mac shows me that mail is taking up 68MB of my macintosh storage although I am not singed into the mail app, therefore there is no emails on the app to be taking up any space. I cannot delete the mail app so I don't know how to claim my storage back. Please help as it is slowing down other programmes.

68MB is not much of anything. You need to be going after GB's of data to create space.


SSD like to have ~20-25% free storage to operate efficiently

Old mechanical HD could get by on less ~10-15% free.


I'll let you do the math.

Try something like OmniDiskSweeper for a GUI to get a good look at itemized file size and location:
