Microsoft Office access

When my mac updated to Catalina, I lost access to my microsoft office programs on my computer that I have had for 5 years. It shows that I have to purchase microsoft 365 to get access. When I try to use my apple id, it shows that I do not have a 365 account. Any thoughts on how to get this access restored?

Office 2011 and older cannot run in Catalina. They are 32 bit, and no such software runs in Catalina.

If you must use Office, then your choices are the subscription Office 365, or the one-time cost perpetual license Office 2019.

First option allows you to install 365 on up to any six devices you want. The second is a single use license (also subscription). The last is the less expensive version of 2019. If you require Outlook, then it's $250 for Office 2019.

Otherwise, there's the free open source OpenOffice or LibreOffice. These are not 100% compatible and do not include any type of replacement for Outlook.
