NOTE: One of the articles is slightly out of date, as watchOS 6 does allow 3rd party streaming; Pandora is offering Apple Watch LTE streaming, off-line playlists and Siri integration on the Apple Watch.  Plus Apple Music supports the Apple Watch.

This happens with me but for non Apple earphones. I have Nuraloop and they connect to bluetooth on my watch but won’t allow playback with Spotify. Apple Music does play which is so weird but I don’t use Apple Music.

I have another pair of Taotronic earphones and a pair of Jabra headphones - both bluetooth that simply aren’t picked up by the watch.

All 3 devices are picked up by my iPhone XR and iPad Pro so makes little sense.

Thanks Deggie. I hear you but it’s weird that I can control Spotify on my phone and Google Home devices using my Apple Watch but Spotify won’t let you playback through earphones. Such a strange design flaw.

You would have to talk to Spotify about that. It is their app.

I guess you’d have to backup and reset your watch.

There is no app from Spotify that allows streaming from the Watch, Apple Music and Pandora both allow that. Can you sync some songs to your Watch and play them?
