There have not been any updates to iPhoto since 2015, when the iPhoto 9.6.1 update has been released. iPhoto is now completely deprecated, because it needs 32bit code, that cannot run on Catalina.

You can use iPhoto's successor, the Photos for Mac application, to access your iPhoto Libraries.
