photos freezes when delete 20000 pictures

Spring cleaned OS Photos Catalina, tried to permanently delete 21000 pictures and Photos freezes all the time.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

It is aver to delete photos in smaller batches. I had never problems with deleting a thousand photos at a time, but I had it occasionally happen, that the Recently Deleted album could not be emptied, if it has been very full.

Try to empty Recently Deleted in smaller batches by selecting no more than thousand items at a time to delete them permanently.
