where are my documents folder after updating os to catalina?

why they're gone? please help as those files were important :((((((

lost documents folder with catalina update I updated the system to Catalina and have since lost my documents folder (all my research, all my lectures, all my papers -- anything in the folder has been displaced and disorganized). I do have them backed up on iCloud but now have a 3 to 4 step process of finding/saving these important docs. Advice? Help please.

Look in the SideBar under iCloud Drive.

The Startup Assistant asked if you wanted it disabled. If you just skipped through, it was enabled.
