Can’t report junk on messages.

There are spam messages from unknown contacts created a group and mysteriously put me in the group on messages application. I would like to report junk to Apple but it doesn’t have the “ report junk “ button under the message as usual. So, How can I do?

Silencing spam group messages I’ve been receiving spam group messages of a sexual nature from both phone numbers and email addresses. After the original spam message, then I receive dozens of replies from the other numbers profanely telling the spammer to 🤬. I have turned on the “filter unknown messages”, and it puts them in another folder, but I still get the ding and the notifications on my main screen, complete with obscene language my boss, coworkers, or children could see. I understand that Apple is not able to stop these because they are SMS, but why can’t you turn off the dings and the notifications for them? I could at least live with that. Report Junk NOT available in iMessage Apple says I can report iMessage junk, but I am NOT seeing Report Junk option in the messages. How do I access it? (I have filtered unknown senders by doing this: Messages>Unknown & Spam, but I am not seeing the Report Junk option anywhere.) I do not see "Report Junk" from numbers not in my contact list. What am I doing wrong? After receiving spam messages, I do not see "Report Junk" from numbers not in my contact list as an option. What am I doing wrong?

SMS/MMS: To report SMS and MMS messages, contact your carrier.

iMessages: Tap Report Junk, then tap Delete and Report Junk. Messages will forward the sender's information and the message to Apple, as well as delete the message from your device. You can't undo deleting a message.
