Also, have you tried:
-Holding power button down for 10 seconds
-Pressing power
-Resetting the NVRAM/PRAM by holding Cmd+Option+P+R keys for about 15 seconds after pressing power
-Resetting the SMC - keys to press depend on what type of MacBook you have
-Testing with a different power adapter and cable
